The workshop is held in the premises of the Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology (UMIT) in the scenic town of Hall/Tyrol near Innsbruck, Austria.

Travel directions

By car:

  • Approach Hall/Tyrol by highway A12 (Inntalautobahn)
  • Leave at junction Hall-Mitte
  • Follow signs towards Stadtzentrum (town centre) and cross the Inn river via the four-lane bridge
  • At the crossing with traffic lights after the bridge, go straight on
  • Follow the main road straight on (slightly right) through two roundabouts
  • After the second roundabout, continue following the main road
  • When passing (after about 1km) the public hospital (Landeskrankenhaus) on the right side, you will see the University Building in front.
    The University Building is a modern cuboid building with flat roof and characteristic black sun-screen lamellas covering all of its outfront.

By plane:

When arriving at Innsbruck Airport (INN), you may use a taxi to Hall in Tirol
(distance: about 15 km).

Alternatively, you can use bus F (direction: Baggersee). Get off the bus at Innsbruck railway station (Hauptbahnhof).
From here, use bus 504 or 505, further details see below.

By long-distance trains:

Long-distance trains (IC/EC/RailJet) call at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof.
From there you can reach Hall/Tyrol either by bus (preferred, as buses get closer to UMIT) or local trains; details see below. Of course, you can also go by taxi (distance: about 10 km).

By local trains:

From Innsbruck, local trains (S, REX) go from Innsbruck to Hall four times/hour during business hours (travel time approx. 10 min).
You can use all trains serving lines S1 (direction Kufstein), S2 (direction Jenbach) and S3 (direction Hall in Tirol). Most REX trains directed to Kufstein, Jenbach, Wörgl also call at Hall (but check timetable for the few exceptions).

One to two trains per hour also go from Kufstein/Jenbach to Hall.

Get off at Hall in Tirol (not at Hall/Thaur). From the station, it is a 25 min walk to UMIT. Alternatively, local buses 2 (direction: Hall in Tirol Samerweg) and 5 (direction: Eichat Walderbrücke) go from Hall station to UMIT one or two times/hour during business hours. Get off at Hall in Tirol Krankenhaus, walk about 100 m in direction of travel to the University Building (on the left). See also the journey planner at www.vvt.at.

By bus from Innsbruck station (Hauptbahnhof):

Buses 504 and 505 depart immediately in front of the railway station.

Bus 504 (every 15 min during business hours, travel time approx. 30 min): direction Hall in Tirol Milserstraße; get off at terminal stop Hall in Tirol Milserstraße, walk about 200 m in direction of travel to the University Building (on the right).

Bus 505 (every 60 min during business hours, travel time approx. 20 min): direction Hall Neumarkt; get off at Hall in Tirol Krankenhaus, walk about 100 m in direction of travel to the University Building (on the left).

Accommodation

Hall is located in the Innsbruck area which is a touristic region with many accommodation options. However, particularly budget-friendly options tend to sell out quite some time in advance. Thus, if you plan to attend OAGM2018, it is advisable to book early. If necessary, look out for rates that are refundable until the date when you’ll make your definitive decision.

A limited number of rooms is still pre-reserved and can be booked by referring to the keyword OAGM2018 at the following location:

    Limited number of rooms pre-reserved with keyword OAGM2018 until April 27.
    Regular rates from 112 EUR for single, from 180 EUR for double rooms; a reduced rate (UMIT rate, reduced by approx. 20%) is applicable for the conference.
